This month we meet a very special girl. Say hello to Maia, our dog of the month June.

First lest’s ask the question from our contest:
If you could ask Cooka to bake or cook you anything, what would it be?
I yould ask Cooka to bake some muffins with peanut butter filling
Do you already know our cookies? If yes, do you have a favorite flavor?
No, unfortunately I never had a chance to try any of your cookies. You know, I’m only 3 and half months old so I still got a lot of new things to try!
Tell us – when were you born and where?
I was born on March 11th 2021, in Aveiro but now I live in Maia, Portugal.

Do you know your star sign?
I’m a pisces but since I was born to be a star, can we create a star sign after me? 😉
Do you remember the first time you met your pawrents?
I do! I was only 4 weeks old and was living with my doggy mom and sister and it was a very special moment. My first ever picture with my pawrents was taken that day.
Was it weird when you noticed that your parents don’t bark and have no paws?
Well I’m glad you ask that ‘cause I thought I was a weirdo for ever thinking that. So… I did but then I saw my mommys big blonde hair and thought it was even more comfy than my doggy moms fur! And my pawrents have cool ankles and feet for me to chew just like doggy momma did!
Does Maia have a special meaning?
I was named after the place I live now because my pawrents really like it here and also thought I had a Maia-face – whatever that means 😉

What is your favorite place at home?
My favorite place is whatever place the sun hits! I’m a sun-junkie J
What food do you eat?
My pawrents get my food from Barkyn.
And your favorite food?
Well, you see… That’s a really hard one because I like everything my pawrents let me try… from fruits all the way to peanut butter or even cheese!
But now that I give it a really good thought, I really LOVE cheese!

If your mom and dad were dogs, what breed would they be?
My daddy would be a jack Russell just like me because he is really active and stubborn 😛
My mommy would be a golden retriever! She is very protective and likes to play with me at the same time.
What you find most strange about hoomans?
I think it’s very strange that they leave the house every day for quite some time and when they come back say that they went to find some money to get me food. But like, shouldn’t they bring home new food every day, then? WEIRD
And what you like most about hoomans?
I like the fact that they give me lots of kisses and play with me and my toys.
If you were hooman, what would be your job?
That’s an easy one!!! I would definitely be a gardener given how keen on hole digging I am!! J
Do you like cats?
Well, I like to chase them 😛 does that count as liking them?

If you could take your pack on a Holiday, where would you go?
I would take them to England to visit the place my ancestors lived in.
And if you could take just 3 things with you, what would those be?
My treatos, my blankie and my favorite chewing toy.
Can you describe mommy and daddy in few simple words?
Loving, caring, funny, patient.
And if you can describe yourself in 3 words?
Active, stubborn, gentle.
If you were voted pawsident, what would be your first change of law?
A bag of free treatos for every pawfriend, every month.
Are you planning on becoming a mommy/daddy yourself one day?
I don’t know but the other day I heard mommy and daddy talking to the vet and I think they have some kind of intervention planned for me and I think it has something to do with that.
And now MOMMY AND DADDY questions
What is the most challenging part about being a dog pawrent?
The most challenging part is dealing with Maia’s stubbornness.

Is Maia your first child?
Yes! She is.
Does Maia share your bed?
No, ever since the first day we brought her home, Maia sleeps in her own bed.
What is the one thing about MAIA that makes you laugh the most?
The way her ears go up and down when she runs!
What was the most naughty thing she ever did?
She dug really deep hole in the garden. And when we arrived home and saw it, she was no longer a white dog! She was completely dirty from top to bottom
Are you planning on growing the pack?
For now we’re not. We know it would be fun for Maia to have a brother or sister but owning a dog is a serious commitment and right now we wouldn’t have the time or the means to take care of more than one dog.
What would be your advice to new dog-parents?
Be patient, give the dog lots of love and start educating them and training them since day 1. And of course… Have fun!!
What is the biggest reward for being a dog pawrent?
How much our heart is fulfilled by her presence and her loving-naughtiness.

Wooooferful, thank you sweet Maia. We will be delighted to watch more of your adventures.
