'A Granel'
January is a special month, as it marks the beginning of a new year, full of adventures and lots of tail-wag.
It is also a month of colder weather, perfect for snuggling up and wearing cozy sweaters, like little Rubi. You might already know this heart-breaking cutie, as she is the in-house model for the successful start-up ‘LanaRoyals’, making hand-knitted clothing for our fur-kids.
How did Rubi enter your life and when?
We got Rubi December 9th, a couple of weeks after my parents agreed on having our own dog. It had to be a small sized dog and miniature pischers sounded like the perfect fit to our family. My dad asked his coworkers if they had any minpin puppies, and surprisingly – one of the coworkers did have a little 3 months old puppy! We got to meet the lady with the puppy and it was love at first sight, so she got to go home with us.
Is she your first fur-child?
We had many dogs who lived at our grandparents’ house, but Rubi is our first full-time dog, yes!

Absolutely! Rubi was the inspiration to start the business. No Rubi – no dog sweaters – no business.
If you could describe Rubi in just 3 words, what would they be?

Does Rubi go everywhere with you?
Yes, everywhere where she is allowed.
If yes, is she a good travel companion?
For sure! We have had many trips with her and she is absolutely the best travel companion! She doesn’t care where she is, since she’s with us. After all, home is where family is.
What is the funniest thing Rubi ever did?
Run in circles around my little brother while he was clapping his hands!
Has she ever been really naughty?
It’s easier to tell when she was not naughty! Just kidding. She can be both good and bad girl – it all depends on her mood and situation.
What food do you feed Rubi and what is her favourite snack?
Rubi gets home cooked meals, and she absolutely loves them. She is a gourmand, so she loves everything she is allowed to have! But her recent favourite is definitely Cookas Cookies!
If Rubi was a Hooman, what would be her profession?
This one is actually easy – she would be a chef! Just like in the ratatouille movie, she is a natural cooker! She loves to sniff everything what’s on the table – hmmm – and eventually even taste something.

Rubi, you look adorable in your mom’s sweaters. May we ask which is your favourite colour?
Hard question – I like so many of them! Besides, many colours suit my black and tan coat so I have a pretty colourful wardrobe.
Do you enjoy being a model?
Hell yes! I adore being a model, it is one of my favourite jobs; I get so many yummy treats and I love it. Always ready for posing and modeling.
What is your favourite place to be?
Somewhere in the sunshine. In the cozy sunny shelf by the window for example – the best place!
If you could choose only one favourite toy, what would it be?
Squeaky stuffed toy! Mr. Kong Fox.
Can you tell us why mommy is the best mommy ever?
Mommy is the best mommy ever because she makes the most delish food – yumm! Looooove food. And love mommy, and mommy’s mommy! heheh
If you could have a little brother or sister, what would you prefer?
My hoomans have been discussing that question.. but me? I would rather get a rat to chase! Would be so much fun don’t you think?
When is your birthday?
Someday in September. My humans have no idea which day for sure, but my B-day was registered September 9th because my gotcha day is December 9th!
Last question: what you find most strange about us hoomans?
Why do they all sleep in separate beds!? Ain’t we a pack? I have to be constantly checking if they’re ok and in place during the night!
